Some things you seek out, others come to you by chance. Like this, arrived in the mail from a lovely baby product PR, just on the off chance I might quite like it. I quite love it actually. It’s the nicest soothing salve, IMHO, for various reasons. First, it smells like lavender, which I’m definitely incorporating into baby’s bedtime routine at every possible opportunity (the scent association WILL work. It WILL WORK). Second, it’s not rock hard like so many baby balms, that you have to warm up with the heat from your hands until it is spreadable - like butter straight from the fridge. This is the spreadable butter of the baby balm world.

Third, it absorbs straight away so I can put her nappy on without having to waft her bare bum with whatever is closest to hand.
