The Baby Cupboard: La Roche Posay Easy Sun Spray

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Dermo-Kids SPF50 Aerosol Spray

My baby was born in May, and so,anticipating an outrageously, uncomfortably hot summer with a tiny person, I was anxious. When is it OK to put suncream on? If I’m not allowed to put anything but water on her skin, how will I put sunscreen on? Her skin is basically translucent, and perfect, and I want to protect her always and forever, so tell me! WHEN CAN I SUN PROTECT?

The official answer from my pharmacist (and doctor. OK and all the other mums, professionals, sometimes even dermatology experts I canvassed) is no younger than six months. So I’ve done the summer protecting her in the other ways - kept her in the shade as much as possible, got her a series of ridiculously cute sun hats, and now I am armed and ready for the next hint of UVA & B light, because I’ve done my homework.

SPF 50 is an absolute must. A spray is a practical, super obvious consideration (how much do they wriggle when you try to get an arm in a sleeve for goodness sake?), non-perfumed, broad spectrum, the list goes on, but to cut a long story short, Anthelios Invisible Kids Spray ticks all the boxes, on every level. Phew.
